METCHOSIN

This place is truly magical in every sense, it is considered to be a rural community and best known for its bountiful farmland. It was first inhabited by Coast Salish peoples. Metchosin or Smets-shosin as it is called in the Native Coast Salish language was incorporated in 1984. It is a community of about 5000 people and is a quick 25 minute drive to Victoria and a scenic one too! Enjoy winding lush roads, beautiful views of the Juan de Fuca straight and plenty of little farms. Also many little farm stands where you can pick up farm fresh, free range eggs, fresh herbs or a bouquet of handpicked flowers!

The Real Estate market is strong here and perfect for those who want to enjoy a large land size, set-up a hobby farm, build a lush garden oasis or simply have it all! The municipality of Metchosin has imposed a minimum of one and two acre lot size bylaw to preserve the area’s rural lifestyle.

A few of my favourite places to visit is Witty’s Lagoon and swimming at Matheson Lake Regional Park. Also My-Chosen Cafe is a great place to stop for lunch or a coffee and a quick visit with the farm animals 🙂
