Fun Fact! In 2020 Langford ranked as the fastest growing community in B.C. and also took first place as most livable place in Canada (report by RATESDOTCA). Langford to me, feels like the hub for big box shopping, recreational facilities, schools and really anything you need! Langford services a lot of surrounding communities and also has a plethora of natural parks and trails. My favourite place to visit with my dogs is Theits Lake, there is public swimming making a great place to bring your floatie, a beautiful nature loop and some pretty stunning sights.
The real estate market is strong here because of the proximity to amenities, schools and it only being a quick jaunt to Victoria. It is a community of around 43,000 with room to grow and this thriving city is doing just that!
Neighbourhoods of Langford include:
Langford has numerous recreation facilities including; Starlight Stadium, a state-of-the-art sporting facility which is the largest in the region. Home to Canadian professional soccer club, Pacific Football Club, Rugby Canada and Westshore Rebels (CJFL). City Centre Park, a premier destination for family entertainment including bowling, mini golf, indoor Playzone play gym. Westhills Y aquatic centre features a lazy river, 2 water slides, lane pool, warm water therapy pool with variable depths and leisure pool with spray features and wave options. Langford is also home to Bear Mountain, Canada’s ultimate urban resort offering 36 holes of Nicklaus Design golf and the red clay Bear Mountain Tennis Centre.
The region has become the fastest-growing little city on Vancouver Island, with big retail stores and new residential developments, and the expanding suburban town of Langford became a city in 2003. The motto of Langford is “Golden in setting, determined in Spirit,” containing a reference to the natural beauty of the City of Langford, specifically Goldstream Provincial Park, and a comment on the community’s drive to enhance Langford’s special character and future.
It’s no wonder why this vibrant and growing city has coined the phrase ‘where it all happens’.
